No man ever spoke as He –
clear, kind authority,
simple truth with faithfulness,
and perceptive tenderness.
Awesome – who on earth is this?
No-one wants his words to miss.
Boldly showing faults, pretence,
never gave needless offence,
warning, gracious invitation,
gripping all the crowd’s attention.
Awesome – who on earth is this?
No-one wants his words to miss.
Wise, with teaching deep – they hear,
know they need to turn to prayer,
ask for help to understand
and accept God’s call, command.
Awesome – who on earth is this?
No-one wants his words to miss.
Have you read his words, with prayer?
Look, and read them all once more,
words profound that challenge, call –
Who is this? the Lord of all.
Now in heaven, in righteous reign –
all will hear him soon again.
