In covenant with God –
his laws and hope were taught
– the sacrifices pointing on,
God’s mercy could be sought.
When Jesus came to earth,
he, our High Priest became,
and sacrifice sufficient, so
new covenant in His name.
Receiving heart made new
that loves his laws and grace.
adopted in God’s family,
know fellowship’s embrace.
We know our sins forgiven,
full payment made, secure.
His Spirit sanctifies and moulds:
we’ve left what went before.
