Jesus at prayer for his people

John 17:11,15,16
In tranquil trust hear Jesus pray –
no panic or frustration:
approaching tension, climax-day –
he prays for our protection.

He knows his Father well, and so
he calls on him for blessing.
Christ knows the malice of the foe
for all who now confess him.
